WayV’s ‘Love Talk’ Video: Watch

Just one week after the release of their new song “Moonwalk” and their Take Over the Moon EP on Oct. 29, boy band WayV returned today (Nov. 5) with their sultry “Love Talk.”

Originally released as a b-side from the group’s new album predominantly performed in Mandarin with some English featured throughout, the new version of “Love Talk” is performed entirely in the latter language. It is WayV’s first single in English, and their fourth one overall since the release of their debut song “Regular” in January.

The single was released alongside a music video that has the seven members of WayV charismatically staring down the camera as they perform the smooth tune. The new English version, like the original, features the septet singing and rapping seductively over a melody imbued with old-school R&B vibes as it flits over sleek, tinny percussion, which evoke trap and Latin pop elements.

“Call me when its after dark,” they sing on the chorus. “Something in the way you wanna talk/ Touch me tease me feel me up.”

Though they perform music primarily in Mandarin, WayV is part of SM Entertainment’s K-pop boy band brand NCT, and several members have participated in other NCT groups, such as NCT U, and two members, Ten and Lucas, are also active in SuperM. The release of “Love Talk” in English comes the day after SM signed with CAA, looking to expand the company’s presence in the Stateside market.
