Tyler, the creator apologizes to Selena Gomez for past tweets

Tyler, the creator’s new album Call me if you’re lost arrived Friday along with an apology to Selena Gomez.

At number 9, “Manifesto” featuring Domo Genesis, Tyler reveals that he apologized to the pop star after a series of inappropriate tweets about her in 2010 and 2011. At the time, an 18-year-old Gomez was dating Justin Bieber, who was good friends. was with Tyler.

“I was a teen, tweetin’ Selena crazy shit / Didn’t mean to offend her, excuse me when I saw her / Back when I tried to fuck Bieber, Justin,” he raps.

Selena and Justin were in a relationship between 2011 and 2018.

Many of Tyler’s explicit tweets about Gomez have since been deleted, but some are still on his timeline.

In a 2013 interview with Power 106, the Odd Future rapper opened up about his fallout with the “Wolves” singer. “We don’t really get along. She doesn’t like me,’ he said. “We don’t like each other because” [I’m] kicking Justin like that’s my homeboy. She’s always mean to me. Like why do you hate me?”

Gomez has not responded to Tyler’s apology.
