One week into the new year, The Weeknd returns with its fifth studio album Dawn FM. The XO crooner is retiring After hours red blazer and transforms into an old man for his final era, which he describes as a ‘sonic experience’.
The 16-track album, which follows 2020 After hours, features the single “Take My Breath,” featuring contributions from Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never and Jim Carrey, who hosts 103.5 Dawn FM.
“It’s the album I’ve always wanted to make,” Abel . said GQ, who described the album as “Quincy Jones meets Giorgio Moroder meets the best-night-of-your-fu**ing-life party records.”
The Weeknd premiered the album during its “103.5 Dawn FM” livestream experience on Amazon Music and Twitch on Thursday evening. He also sells limited-edition merch, which will be available online for 48 hours.
Starting this summer, The Weeknd will be bringing his new music to life on its ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ worldwide stadium tour.
