Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) told the Jan. 6 panel to grind the sand after they asked him to provide information about his communications with Trump about the Jan. 6 Capitol protest.
Rep. Jordan formally responded to the Jan. 6 panel in a letter to the committee chair, Rep. Benny Thompson.
“This request is well beyond the scope of any legitimate investigation, violates fundamental constitutional principles and would serve to further erode legal norms,” Jordan wrote to Thompson.
“As you well know, I have no relevant information that would assist the Select Committee in furthering a legitimate legislative purpose,” he added.

“We understand that you had at least one and possibly several communications with President Trump on January 6. We would like to discuss any such communications with you in detail,” Thompson wrote
Mr. Jordan argued that he speaks to President Trump all the time, so it is not uncommon for him to speak to Trump on January 6.
Jordan is right. The January 6 panel is totally illegal.
One problem for the panel is that there is no ranking member.
Liz Cheney, the panel’s vice chair, falsely claimed this week that she was the highest-ranking member of the J-6 committee.
“Liz Cheney just falsely claimed that she is the highest-ranking member – the highest representative of the GOP caucus – on the J6 committee. She was even hand selected by Nancy Pelosi and is NOT the ranking member. Huge, huge legal implications associated with this lie.” Mollie Hemmingway of the Federalist said.
Holy shit! Liz Cheney just falsely claimed that she is the highest-ranking member – the highest representative of the GOP caucus – on the J6 committee. She was even hand selected by Nancy Pelosi and is NOT the ranking member. Huge, huge legal implications associated with this lie.
