Baby Jenkins is here!
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai have welcomed their first child together. On Tuesday (Jan. 11) on Instagram, the co-host of “The Real” announced the arrival of their bundle of joy.
“I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family,” the new mother writes with a photo from the delivery room. “Baby Jenkins is here.”
Mai did not reveal the sex of the baby, but she previously said she would not learn the sex of her child before birth.
“That makes things more exciting than defining the baby with pink skirts or blue corduroy shorts,” she told WWD. “I get everything because I want the baby to have options. It’s very awakening to see how much you place your baby in very specific stereotypes based on whether or not you know it’s a boy or a girl.”
In September, Mai announced that she and her husband were expecting their first child together. After a miscarriage a month before their March 2021 wedding, the couple eventually opted for in vitro fertilization.
“It wasn’t easy,” Mai . told Women’s Health of the process of getting pregnant. “We both needed a little help, especially since I was 41 at the time.”
A week after their wedding, Mai found out she was pregnant again. “It was the most beautiful sign that anything is possible, that you have no control and that God has a plan,” she said.
This is the first child for Mai and the fourth for Jeezy, who has three children from previous relationships: Jadarius, Shyheim and Amra.
