On Tuesday, November 5, Disney wants to become “Part of Your World.” The Little Mermaid Live! musical event will air on ABC in front of a studio audience.
The cast includes Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Ariel, Queen Latifah as Ursula, Graham Phillips (The Good Wife) as Prince Eric, John Stamos as Chef Louis, and Shaggy as Sebastian. Glee’s Amber Riley will serve as emcee for the telecast.
Deadline first reported news of The Little Mermaid Live! in 2017, meaning this trip under the sea been a long time coming. Here’s how to avoid becoming a poor unfortunate soul who misses the musical.
The Little Mermaid Live! airs Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. If you’re on the West Coast, the taped live version will re-air at 8 p.m. PT.
For those with cable, the show can also be watched on ABC.com and on the ABC app. Additionally, some streaming services provide ABC, including AppleTV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV. And in a deal that doesn’t require you to hand over your voice, services such as Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, and FuboTV offer free 7-day trials.
The Little Mermaid Live! is the first event of its kind for ABC, following in the footsteps of NBC (Hairspray, Peter Pan, The Sound of Music) and FOX (Grease! Live, Rent: Live). The musical will also serve as a refresher for the live-action movie in the works, which will star Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton.
