Fetty Wap released on 0,000 bond over drug charges

Fetty Wap will be released from prison on $500,000 bail as he awaits trial in his federal drug case.

The “My Way” rapper, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, was arrested on October 28 on charges of drug trafficking conspiracy at Citi Field in New York City, just before he was due to take the stage in Rolling Loud New York.

Federal prosecutors allege that Fetty, along with five others, distributed more than 100 pounds of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin and crack cocaine across New Jersey and Long Island. The FBI claims the drugs were first obtained on the West Coast and smuggled to the East Coast via USPS vehicles with secret compartments.

The terms of his release require him to wear a GPS monitoring device and submit to random drug tests. He must also hand in his passport and get approval before traveling.

The indictment, filed Sept. 29, charged Fetty with one charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances.

During the investigation, the FBI obtained $1.5 million in cash, 16 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl pills, handguns, handguns and a rifle.

Fetty and his co-defendants could face life sentences if convicted.
