Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell Still Spending Campaign Money on Glitzy Lifestyle, FEC Records Show

Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) seems unable to free himself from the good life. Again, the Federal Election Commission data, obtained by The Daily Caller, shows some hefty spending outside the year before the election for Swalwell.

Applications submitted to the FEC before the third quarter of 2021 for the campaign show a fairly extensive list of expensive restaurants, sporting events, drink deliveries, limousine services and even casinos.

Swalwell’s jet-setting ways

A quick read of Swalwell’s editions tells an interesting story. He’s been to the most expensive restaurants in Washington DC, several Washington Nationals baseball games, and apparently gets there in style with limousine services.

When he wasn’t in the Wunter Garten beer garden, he had his alcohol delivered to his home using the Drizzly liquor delivery app. Then there were the trips to Vegas and the Cosmopolitan Casino.

But Swalwell didn’t fly commercially like the rest of us, he went on a private jet, and not just any private jet, but the luxury JetSuiteX private jet service.

A pattern of spending

This is not new to Swalwell.

In July, the FEC found that the Swalwell for Congress campaign spent about $500,000 on the same kind of indulgences, limousines, expensive eateries and alcohol deliveries.

There was also a $20,000 bill from the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay hotel where Swalwell’s wife Brittany had previously worked.

Although in both cases Rep. Swalwell has not been charged with any wrongdoing, in July, when the records for the second quarter of 2021 came out, $500,000 seemed a curious amount for a congressman in a non-election year, and whose district reliably votes 70. % Democrat.

“The Spy Who Loved Me”

Perhaps the most famous or infamous incident where Rep. Swalwell was involved was his involvement with a suspected Chinese spy.

Christine Fang, aka Fang Fang, worked on Swalwell’s re-election campaign in 2014 and eventually managed to install an intern in his California office.

According to a CNN report, Swalwell said he was “shocked” when the FBI told him after Fang fled the country that she was suspected of being a spy trying to establish relationships with US politicians.

Swalwell insists he cooperated fully with the FBI and was not charged with any wrongdoing in the case. He says he has never disclosed any sensitive information to Fang, but will not say whether there has been a sexual relationship between them.
