Black Lives Matter: Emotional embrace as Women's Football players take a knee | SBS News



Chicago Red Stars players Julie Ertz and Casey Short shared an emotional moment as their team took a knee during the national anthem at the start of the National Women’s Soccer League Challenge Cup in Utah.

Several players from both the Red Stars and their opponents Washington Spirit wore Black Lives Matter shirts, and most took a knee.

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is the first team sports league in the US to play after the COVID-19 outbreak.
