Biden’s approval rating drops to 38%

President Biden’s approval rating took another dip in the latest USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll, which also saw Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats in Congress also receive some bad news.

While Biden’s low approval rating is somewhat in line with former President Trump’s at this stage, the disapproval rate is significantly higher.

The current president has a 37.8% approval rating and a 59% disapproval — more than 11 points underwater.

From there it gets worse.

Forty-six percent of those polled said Biden has done worse than they could have imagined, and 64% said they don’t want Biden reelected in 2024.

Biden’s Approval Rating Is Bad – Kamala’s Is Worse

The rest of the USA Today/Suffolk University poll didn’t offer much comfort to Biden’s next in line, Kamala Harris, either.

Harris has a 28% approval rating and 51% disapproves of her performance since taking office, flooding her with 23 percentage points.

Biden, meanwhile, is getting flak for the border debacle, the withdrawal from Afghanistan that led to 13 Americans being killed in a terrorist attack and hundreds left behind enemy lines, heavy vaccine mandates and reports of payments to illegal immigrants as Americans suffer due to inflation. and supply chain problems.

Biden and Harris are clearly on a sinking ship.

2022 Looks bleak

The sinking ship of Biden and Harris’ approval ratings could have a detrimental effect on Congressional Democrats heading into the 2022 midterms.

Even Chuck Todd of NBC seems to see the letters on the wall.

The same poll gives Republicans a 46% to 38% advantage on a generic congressional vote.

Fox News writes, “Congress Democrats… may face an uphill battle to keep their wafer-thin majorities unless something significant changes before Election Day on November 8, 2022.”

The poll also gives dismal ratings for congressional Democrats — only 29% approve of their work.

President Biden was able to celebrate a big win after several Republicans handed him his $1.3 trillion “infrastructure” bill last week, something this poll suggests 61% of Americans support.

Biden and the First Lady shared a moment to celebrate on a Delaware beach this weekend.

The infrastructure win came after an Election Day massacre in Virginia for Democrats and will likely have little effect on the ballot box in 2022.

Instead, legendary Democratic strategist James Carville suggested that the party distance itself from extremist progressives to get back on track.

“What went wrong is stupid wakefulness. Don’t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington,” he guessed.

“I mean this policing madness, this is taking Abraham Lincoln’s name off schools, people are seeing that,” Carville added. “And it’s really having a suppressive effect on Democrats across the country.”

66% of respondents also indicated that the United States is heading in the wrong direction.
