The band also rules Top Album Sales for the first time.
Walk the Sky, the quartet’s sixth studio set, debuts at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart dated Nov. 2, with 22,000 album units earned in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. The LP also launches atop Hard Rock Albums.
Of its sum, 20,000 units were via album sales, sparking the set’s No. 1 start on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart. The band previously reached a No. 4 best with The Last Hero in 2016.
Alter Bridge previously peaked at a No. 2 high on Top Rock Albums with The Last Hero. Each of its other studio albums outside of debut LP One Day Remains, which precedes Top Rock Albums’ existence, debuted in the tally’s top five.
On Hard Rock Albums, Walk the Sky is the band’s second No. 1, following The Last Hero.
Additionally, the new LP’s No. 2 rank on Alternative Albums ties Alter Bridge’s previous best, established by both The Last Hero and 2010’s AB III.
Walk the Sky‘s lead single, “Wouldn’t You Rather,” hit No. 18 on the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart dated Oct. 5.
