‘Vanderpump Rules’ Editor Fired After Embarrassing Scheana Shay

Vanderpump Rules editor Bri Dellinger revealed that she was fired by Bravo after coming under fire for admitting to embarrassing Scheana Shay.

“To any of the cast members who wanted me out: I’m out!” Dellinger wrote in a since-deleted open letter on the Reality TV Therapist website, according to multiple Bravo blogs and fan screenshots. “To the critics who have made it their mission to get me fired: you succeeded in your short-sighted mission and solved nothing. I’ve been removed from the show I love and, while it is a heart-break for me because I genuinely loved editing this show, it will not ruin me professionally, nor will it change the editing of the show at all.”

The Emmy nominee made headlines on May 11 when she spilled secrets about editing the Bravo reality series during an appearance on the “Twisted Plot Podcast With Evelyn Marley.”

“If Scheana knew what was good for her, she’d befriend me because my favorite game is finding all of the embarrassing things that Scheana does and putting them all in,” she said in the since-deleted episode. “[The editors] joke that Scheana’s memoir will be Death By a Million Embarrassments.”

Dellinger also confessed that she did not want to edit Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s wedding and claimed much of the cast never went out of their way to befriend her.

“They don’t really think about or talk to us at all,” she said. “I feel like they should totally want to be friends with me. I know everything about them. Oh, wait! Maybe that’s why they don’t want to be friends with me.”

After the TV editor appeared on the podcast, Shay, 35, wrote in a since-deleted tweet to Bravo executive Andy Cohen, “Hey @Andy I have some tea for you … check your DMs!” She later “liked” a fan’s tweet calling for Dellinger to be “demoted.”

The “Good as Gold” singer has been outspoken in recent months about the way she is portrayed on the show, which she has starred on since its 2013 premiere.

“You see a very one-dimensional, boy-crazy desperado,” she said via Instagram Live on May 12, acknowledging that she “can be annoying at times [but] that’s why it’s entertaining.”

Scheana Shay ‘Likes’ Tweet Calling for ‘Pump Rules’ Editor’s Demotion

Scheana Shay has gone silent amid the drama with Vanderpump Rules editor Bri Dellinger, but the SURver’s social media activity speaks for itself.

The 35-year-old reality TV personality “liked” a series of tweets from supportive fans after Dellinger admitted she tries to embarrass Scheana on the Bravo series on purpose.

“A vindictive woman who is pouting over a never-existing friendship, IS NOT someone who you’d WANT To be friends with ANYWAY! Ugh! I hope Bri gets demoted! #JusticeForScheana,” one tweet “liked” by Scheana reads.

A second tweet states, “Team @scheana the way the editors are treating her is straight trash. She deserves better.”

“LMAO imagine editing a show with Jax Taylor, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, Stassi etc. Etc. as the cast and you choose SCHEANA to be the one to embarrass,” a third tweet reads. “This S T I N K S. #PumpRules.”

Scheana made headlines on Monday, May 11, after Dellinger spoke about her friendships — or lack thereof — with the Bravo cast during an appearance on the “Twisted Plot Podcast With Evelyn Marley.”

“If Scheana knew what was good for her, she’d befriend me because my favorite game is finding all of the embarrassing things that Scheana does and putting them all in,” the editor said in the since-deleted podcast episode. “[The editors] joke that Scheana’s memoir will be Death By a Million Embarrassments.”

The “Good As Gold” songstress has expressed her concerns about her portrayal on Vanderpump Rules in the past.

“I mean, I’m not happy with my story line or whatever you want to call it, because it’s a very small percentage of my life that you’re seeing,” Scheana told Canadian outlet Global News in March. “Yes, I can be annoying and yes, I can be overly flirty. A lot of other women on the show are like that too but you’re not seeing that. You’re seeing other people’s careers and lives outside of the restaurant but you don’t see mine.”

Dellinger, however, disagrees.

“I feel like she just has short-term memory because we’ve shown a lot of her story,” she said on the podcast. “I understand why she’s bitter in some ways. You know, we do poke fun at her, but she’s just so funny.”

Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Us Weekly has reached out to Bravo for comment.

Scheana Shay Reveals Max Invited Her to ‘Pump Rules’ Boys’ Night

Scheana Shay is not here for the “boy crazy” narrative on season 8 of Vanderpump Rules. The SURver fired back after she appeared to crash ex Max Boyens’ boys’ night on the Tuesday, January 21, episode.

In a since-deleted tweet, the 34-year-old Bravo star shared text messages between her and Max, 27, from the night the episode was filmed in May 2019. While viewers saw most of the exchange between the twosome on the episode, a text in which the TomTom general manager asked Scheana if she wanted to stop by the bar he was at to chat was omitted.

“This,” Scheana wrote on the since-deleted screenshot. There was also an arrow pointing to the message.

On the episode, meanwhile, Jax Taylor, Beau Clark, Tom Sandoval and Brett Caprioni looked surprised to see the “Good As Gold” singer when she showed up at the bar.

Scheana and Max were linked in November 2018 following her split from Adam Spott. The “Scheananigans” podcast host accused her costar of downplaying their relationship during Tuesday’s episode — and confronted him by reading sweet messages he sent her in the past.

“I think I’m obsessed with you already,” one of Max’s texts to Scheana read.

In another message, Max wrote that he “hit the jackpot” with Scheana.

“Could definitely kiss you some more,” a third text read.

Max, who called Scheana “boy crazy” during the January 7 premiere, apologized during the episode.

Earlier this month, the Vanderpump Rules newbie came under fire for a different set of messages. Both Max and Brett, who joined the series during season 8, apologized after racist tweets that range between the years 2011 to 2013 surfaced of the two men using the N-word.

“Obviously, nothing they said is OK,” Scheana said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday when asked about her costars’ tweets. “I don’t condone anything that they said. I can say more on Max’s behalf. He is a good person, he has a good heart, and he’s been an amazing friend to me, despite what you’re seeing on the show.”

While she noted that she “never really” got to know Brett, Scheana concluded, “I don’t think anything he said is OK or excusable. … Either of them.”

Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.

Scheana Shay Fires Back at Brett Caprioni After He Calls Her a Bad Kisser

A lack of chemistry? Scheana Shay blasted her new Vanderpump Rules costar Brett Caprioni via Instagram on Tuesday, January 7, after he called her a bad kisser on the season 8 premiere of the Bravo series.

“Thoughts on Brett and what he said about you being a bad kisser?” one fan asked Scheana, 34, via a text message she posted on her Instagram Story. “He’s a f–king liar! hahaha first he didn’t remember it and then he remembers it was ‘bad’?”

The TV personality was immediately attracted to Brett on the premiere episode, which aired on Tuesday, and laid her baggage out on the table. “I’m divorced. I don’t know if you know that,” she told the new SUR server. The pair eventually hooked up later that night but the encounter didn’t live up to Brett’s expectations.

“The next thing I know, we just kissed,” the New Jersey native said in his confessional. “That wasn’t what I thought it would be. Nothing against her.”

A producer asked him, “Wait, are you saying she’s not a good kisser?” to which Brett replied, “That is what I’m saying.”

Prior to joining the Bravo series, Brett was a fitness YouTuber and dated beauty guru Carli Bybel from 2013 to 2017. Scheana, for her part, was married to Mike Shay from 2014 to 2017. She has also been linked to Rob Valletta, The Bachelorette‘s Robby Hayes and her Vanderpump Rules costars Max Boyens and Adam Spott.

Scheana gave an update on her relationship statuses with her exes during the episode. “I have not talked to Adam Spott since last summer,” the Bravo star said. “I did briefly date Max, the GM at TomTom, but he just ghosted me. I literally bought him an Apple Watch to show him how much I cared about him, and he couldn’t even use it to text me.”

The reality star can now leave her failed relationships in the past because she’s moved on with personal trainer Brock Davies, who she met at a music festival in 2019. Us Weekly broke the news that the couple are dating in November. Scheana told Us later that month that she and Davies, 34, would spend Thanksgiving together.

“He’s gorgeous,” she told Us at the time. “He’s so good to look at, but he is the nicest person I’ve ever met and treats me with respect, the way I deserve, so that’s the best part about him.”
