Last Man Standing’s Tim Allen Shares Season 9 Hopes, Ideas for Mike

Remaining hopeful. Season 8 of Last Man Standing was forced to wrap before filming its finale, forcing the April 30 penultimate episode to serve as the final episode of the season. However, star Tim Allen is hopeful that the show will be renewed for a ninth season — and that the original finale can serve as the premiere.

“I think it would be outstanding as a premiere,” the comedian, 66, told Us Weekly exclusively. “You’d save it, we could do some pieces over the summer.”

Last Man Standing aired on ABC for six seasons before getting canceled. Fox then picked it up for seasons 7 and 8 — and Allen says they’ve been talking about how season 9 would look.

“We have planned for a future but this is an extremely unusual circumstance. The studios are closed down. There are no pilots being shot that I know of. I don’t know what they’re going to do, I don’t know how they’re going to get back up,” the Toy Story star said. “But they have to come up with some sort of content. The good news for veteran shows it that we’re already set up. The big question is, ‘Will August work?’ My best guess would be yes, you can probably do a show — maybe not a live audience but a show.”

Allen also added that his character, Mike Baxter, still has a lot to explore — the relationships with his brother and father, his wife getting a second wind in her career and getting to know his extended family.

Plus, he’s excited to hopefully dip his toes into a familiar territory, something he mastered during eight seasons of Home Improvement: having sons.

“I want to find out what Baxter would be like with a boy,” he said, alluding to the character’s relationships with his sons-in-law.

Speaking of the ’90s sitcom, Allen also teased that “there’s always potential” to bring back his past costars to guest-star on the show. Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Patricia Richardson, who played Allen’s son and wife on the ABC show, have guest-starred in two and three episodes of Last Man Standing, respectively. “It’s always so fun.”

Last Man Standing airs on Fox Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Bella Thorne Shares ‘Wildest’ Part of Being on the ‘Masked Singer’

Her swan song! After being eliminated from The Masked Singer, Bella Thorne is dishing out the most surprising aspects from her time on the Fox reality series.

“I think the fact that you have to wear all completely loose clothing that you really can’t tell what type of body type that you have,” the Famous in Love alum, 22, told Us Weekly exclusively on Thursday, March 19. “The fact that every single inch of skin, like, I mean every single inch [is covered]. You have to wear that s–t to work every day. You have to perform and rehearse in the mask and stuff. You’re going over dance steps, so that became really sweaty, really quickly.”

Thorne admitted that she was “surprised” by how seriously those involved on the show take things. However, there was one “really crazy” thing she encountered that threw her for a loop.

“Anybody that’s a guest of the show — not us [stars], but my assistants and my vocal teacher — have to go sit in a room together where somebody monitors them as they watch the show live,” she explained. “They cannot speak. They all have to wear visors, which they can barely see out of. Everybody’s people just sits in a room and watches, but cannot speak to each other.”

The former Disney Channel actress continued, “There’s literally somebody in the room making sure that no one takes off their mask and that no one speaks. [They’re] not able to talk to one another. It’s so boring to [not] talk amongst each other, nothing. It’s literally, like, you can’t even make a comment like, ‘Yay, go someone.’”

Thorne, who starred alongside Masked Singer judge Ken Jeong in 2015’s The Duff, was unmasked as the swan during Wednesday’s elimination. Ahead of her big reveal, there were clues that the former child star may have been the costumed character.

In the swan’s clue package, the masked figure displayed vampire fangs, a nod to Thorne’s Filthy Fangs brand. The swan’s ballet dance seemingly hinted at Thorne’s dance background from her former Disney Channel series, Shake It Up, and images of a ghost are shown, which appears to align with her 2016 role in Boo! A Madea Halloween.

“If I would have still kept on the show, my next songs would have been ‘Changes’ [by XXXTentacion] and ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus,” she admitted to Us on Thursday. “‘The Climb’ would have been so good. My voice sounds as good as f–k in that song. [It’s] so sad I got kicked off early.”

Despite her elimination from The Masked Singer, Thorne’s journey with Fox isn’t over just yet. On Wednesday, March 18, it was confirmed that the multi-hyphenate inked a development deal with Fox for both scripted and unscripted content.

“One of the main things that I’ve been saying recently is thank you to Fox for really sticking your neck out and saying, ‘I’m going to hire a young ass writer-producer at 22 years old because this is the person that if anybody’s going to speak to the generation right now and be more realistic with them, it’s going to be her,’” she explained to Us. “That’s just so much trust and whatnot. To put in me and I’m just so thankful. I really don’t see a lot of networks taking that chance with the younger talent, which they really should be.”

Mario Lopez Shares 1st Look at ‘Saved by the Bell’ Revival

Back to Bayside High! Mario Lopez shared a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Saved by the Bell revival series — and it featured his costar Elizabeth Berkley!

“Back at The Max… #SBTB #FBF,” the Access Hollywood host, 46, captioned an Instagram video post on Friday, January 10. In the brief clip, Lopez and Berkley, 47, were seen inside of ‘90s sitcom’s hangout spot, The Max.

“Alright, so we just shot our first scene,” Lopez revealed. “Well, not really our first scene. It was, like, a promo for Saved by the Bell.”

Berkley chimed in, adding: “I feel like only people who’ve had the history we have could drop right into that.”

Lopez then pointed out that the set was arranged just like “old-school Max” as the video zoomed, giving fans a better look. The Showgirls actress then said she felt like she was in “a time machine,” and added that the acting pair still “look the same.”

NBC announced in September 2019 that Saved by the Bell would be revisited on the network’s upcoming streaming service, Peacock. Lopez and Berkley are reprising their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano, respectively. Mark-Paul Gosselaar closed a deal to return as Zack Morris and Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kelly Kapowski, is also in talks to join, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Not long after NBC Universal unveiled the revival news, Thiessen, 45, told Us Weekly exclusively that she had no prior knowledge about the revisitation. “I don’t know anything about it,” she admitted in October 2019. “Literally, Mark-Paul and I were like, ‘Oh, wow! I didn’t know that was happening.’ But it seems like everyone is doing a reboot these days.”

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum wasn’t completely onboard with joining the Saved by the Bell revival, noting that she “likes the originals” and is “nostalgic that way.”

Saved by the Bell, which also starred Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), Dustin Diamond (Samuel “Screech” Powers) and Dennis Haskins (principal Richard Belding), aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993. The hit teen series scored two spinoffs, the short-lived Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 2000.

Speaking to Us exclusively in August 2019, Lopez revealed that he’s remained close with his former castmates. “I like that I’ve maintained friendships with all of them. I think that’s what’s most special,” he said at the time. “I was at Tiffani’s house the other day, and seeing how the kids play together was really cool.”

‘Jeopardy!’ host Alex Trebek gives health update, shares his plans after retirement

PASADENA – Alex Trebek is giving fans an update on his health.

“Some days are better than others,” the longtime “Jeopardy!” host — who announced his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis last March — admitted during the Television Critics Association winter press tour at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, Calif., on Wednesday.

He continued: “My resistance is lower than most, of course, because of the [chemotherapy] treatments. … I have a cold that seems to be going around, but this is the second time I’ve had one in the past month and a half. They’ve gotten me off one of my chemo drugs, which were killing me.”

The legendary game show host, who has been a fixture on the series since 1984, promised that as long as he feels his skills “haven’t diminished too much,” he has no plans to retire.

“When you’ve been hosting, there are some of you who have been doing your jobs for many years,” he said. “Some of you two or three decades. When you’ve been in the same job for that long period of time, it moves you to think at some point about retiring. Thinking about retiring and retiring are two different things.”

Trebek also shared that he has a doctor’s appointment on Thursday, Jan. 9, when he’ll undergo several tests and receive the results in “maybe another week or so.”

While he was as eloquent as ever, it was clear that the treatments have worn on Trebek — who noted that audience members “wouldn’t believe how dark my skin is becoming because of the treatments.”

The television personality went on to mention that his “memory isn’t as good as it used to be” and said while filming “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time” he felt a “little slower at the ad-libbed portions.”

He added, however, that his wife noted that she didn’t notice any difference in his hosting abilities.

Earlier this week, Trebek told Michael Strahan that he’ll take 30 seconds at the end of his final episode, whenever that may be, to say goodbye.

In Pasadena, Trebek said that he has yet to prepare his final goodbye.

“That particular day, I will speak to [the producers and director] and tell them, ‘Give me 30 seconds at the end of the program, that’s all I need to say goodbye,’” he said.

Despite the harrowing idea of saying goodbye, the “Jeopardy!” host said he doesn’t “foresee that 30-second moment coming up in the near future.”

When asked about his plans after the show though, Trebek joked to reporters: “Drink.” “No, I’ll work around the house,” he added.

Rep. Paul Gosar shares fake image of Obama with Iranian president

“The world is a better place without these guys in power,” Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar said in his caption of the doctored photo.

Obama, who left office in 2017, never met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who is still in power. The image was photoshopped from Obama’s 2011 meeting with former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Democratic Rep. Sean Casten of Illinois called Gosar’s post “irresponsible.”

“The world would be a better place if elected officials didn’t share photoshopped images and take pride in being ignorant,” Casten said on Twitter.

Gosar later defended himself, saying that it was not implied that the photo wasn’t altered.

“To the dim witted reporters…no one said this wasn’t photoshopped. No one said the president of Iran was dead. No one said Obama met with Rouhani in person,” Gosar said on Twitter.

He added, “Obama coddled, appeased, nurtured and protected the worlds No. 1 sponsor of terror. The world is better without Obama as president. The world will be better off without Rouhani.”

The tweet comes amid heightened tensions with Iran after President Donald Trump ordered a drone strike killing Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani. The same fake image was included in a super PAC campaign ad touting Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson’s opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, according to a 2015 Buzzfeed report.
Gosar has a history of controversial remarks and actions. In 2017, he promoted the conspiracy theory that the white supremacists’ rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, was a left-wing plot financed by Democratic megadonor George Soros.
And CNN reported that Gosar attended an hours-long dinner in London in 2018 with an extremist Belgian politician who is known for his anti-Muslim views and has a history of racist comments.

Saudi Aramco: Shares drop to lowest price since IPO on Iran fears

The stock has dropped roughly 2% since the killing of Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, reflecting concerns that Iran could respond to the attack by targeting the oil infrastructure of Saudi Arabia, a key American ally in the region.
Shares have dipped despite a surge in crude oil prices of as much as 6% since Thursday to near $70, which should help boost earnings at the world’s most valuable company.

Saudi Aramco shares have been trending lower since the days after the company pulled off the biggest IPO in history in December. The stock’s total decline since peaking on December 16 — a week after trading began — briefly topped 10% on Monday, wiping more than $200 billion off the company’s market value.

Investors are worried that Iran, which counts Saudi Arabia among its regional foes, could target the company’s production facilities or its computer networks in retaliation for the killing of Soleimani.

The killing of Soleimani gives rise to “uncharted geopolitical risks,” which will limit foreign investor appetite for Saudi Aramco, said Hasnain Malik, the Dubai-based head of equity strategy at Tellimer, an investment bank focused on developing markets.

One way Iran could retaliate is through cyber attacks, according to experts. The country has strong cyber capabilities, and it has previously been linked to attacks on major banks like JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo that made it difficult for customers to log into their accounts and access funds.
Saudi Aramco previously suffered one of the worst cyber attacks in history, when 35,000 computers were partially wiped or totally destroyed by hackers in 2012.

Another risk is an attack on the company’s infrastructure. The United States blamed Iran for a missile strike on Saudi Arabia in September that briefly took out roughly half of the kingdom’s oil production. Iran denied carrying out the attack.

Aramco support

When it comes to Saudi Aramco’s stock price, much depends on continued support from local and regional investors, said Malik.

The vast majority of investors who participated in the $25.6 billion IPO on December 11 were Saudi individuals, companies and institutions.

“Fundamentally, Aramco is massively overvalued,” said Anish Kapadia, director of energy at Palissy Advisors, who added that the company only managed to bring its IPO valuation near $1.7 trillion by limiting the amount of shares it sold and leaning on friendly local investors. “It was always going to be difficult for them to uphold that valuation,” Kapadia said.

Oil prices may fall

The spike in oil prices may be short lived. If prices start to fall again, that would further pressure Aramco’s stock.

Analysts at Goldman Sachs said in a research note that increased risk is already reflected in crude prices, and a supply disruption would be necessary to sustain them near current levels.

“We therefore believe that price risks are skewed to the downside in coming weeks, with oil prices already trading above our fundamental fair value of $63 a barrel ahead of the recent events,” the analysts said.

— CNN Business’ Julia Horowitz contributed reporting.

Lauren Bushnell Shares Chris Lane Santa Video

Lauren Bushnell Jokes That Chris Lane Is Taking His Santa Role Seriously

Santa’s gone country! Lauren Bushnell and husband Chris Lane are getting into the holiday spirit, but the country singer might be taking it a little too far.

After heading to North Carolina, on Sunday, December 22, the former Bachelor alum shared a video of her husband channeling his inner Santa. “Taking his role as Santa very seriously 🎅,” Bushnell, 29, captioned the video on Sunday.

In the clip, the “Big Big Plans” singer can be seen climbing on the roof as Bushnell tells him “Baby, be careful.” Lane, 35, goes in and out of a top window, similar to Santa’s famous chimney dive, and almost goes all the way inside before the video ends.

The pair, who wed in October, will be splitting their first married Christmas between their families staring with Lane’s family in Kernsersville, North Carolina, ahead of the holiday and then on to Bushnell’s parent’s house in Portland, Oregon.

“Since we spent Thanksgiving with my family this year, we will be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas with Lauren’s family in Portland,” Lane told Us Weekly exclusively in December.

The couple will be focused on their usual family traditions this holiday season but come 2020 they plan to switch things up.

“This year, we won’t be starting any new traditions, however our goal is to have both of our families in Nashville next Christmas in hopes of making that a new Christmas tradition!” the country crooner told Us. “I’ve always loved family time during the holidays, but it makes it even more special to have the girl I love right by my side.”

The “I Don’t Know About You” singer and former reality star exchanged vows in the fall after a whirlwind romance and short engagement.

“I’ve been gone a majority of the time since we got married, and I can’t wait to have some downtime together,” the “Take Back Home Girl” artist gushed to Us.

In November, the lovebirds hit the 2019 Country Music Association Awards together marking their first red carpet as a married couple. At the time the country star told Us, “It felt different walking the red carpet as a married couple, in the best way.”

Lane and Bushnell attended the country award show the year before, but this time was different. “We knew we really liked each other when we came to the CMAs together last year, but this time around it’s so special to step on the red carpet with someone I love so dearly and introduce her now as my wife,” he told Us.

He added: “We definitely received a lot of congratulations at the awards. Some of our other artist friends are recently married too, so it kind of feels like love is in the air.”

Us confirmed the pair were an item in November 2018. A few months later in June, Lane popped the question at Bushnell’s family’s home by writing a song for her and singing it.

Debra Messing Shares Photo From ‘Will & Grace’ Set ‘All Packed Up’

The end is near. Debra Messing and Eric McCormack cozied up in a new Instagram photo, shared on Tuesday, December 17, showing a nearly bare Will & Grace set.

“It’s really happening. The curtain is coming down on Will & Grace after 11 seasons. A whole lotta life was lived in that apartment. And that laughs. Thank God for the laughs,” Messing, 51, captioned the photo. “Almost all packed up. Savoring every last minute.”

Sean Hayes also took to Instagram, sharing a selfie with costar Brian Jordan Alvarez on Monday, December 16. “2 more days of filming and then…anchors away,” the Emmy winner, 49, wrote. “Love my television husband, Brian Jordan Alvarez.”

The NBC series, starring Messing (Grace Adler), McCormack (Will Truman), Hayes (Jack McFarland) and Megan Mullally (Karen Walker), originally aired from 1998 to 2005. The network revived the show in 2017 but announced in July that the upcoming season would be the final one.

In October, TVLine reported that Mullally, 60, took a temporary leave of absence from the sitcom during the final season’s filming due to tension on set with the Smash star. Additionally, the Parks and Recreation alum no longer follows Messing nor Hayes on Instagram.

A month before the report, McCormack, 56, disputed any feud rumors. “It seems crazy. It is crazy! I think people worried about that entirely too much,” he told Us exclusively in October. “The four of us get along like a house on fire. We always have.”

Will & Grace returns on NBC Thursday, January 9, at 9 p.m. ET.
