Matt Helps Rachael After She’s Hurt, Serena P. Leaves

Sorting out their feelings. Matt James reconsidered how serious he was about the remaining four women during hometown dates on the Monday, February 22, episode of The Bachelor.

Michelle landed the first date, taking him bike riding and introducing him to her students via video chat. She told Matt her parents were hesitant for her to join the show because she had to put her life on hold, but they agreed to support her no matter what. Michelle revealed she would say yes if Matt proposed and she thought he was The One, while he said he would move to Minnesota for her.

Rachael, for her part, organized a skydiving date because trust is a big factor for her in relationships. However, things took a turn when she slammed into the ground upon landing. Matt ran over to check on her and confessed that he didn’t realize how strongly he felt for her until watching her get hurt. She cried over his admission and was appreciative of his concern for her. She later told her mom that makeup was covering the injuries to her face.

Rachael’s family — specifically her dad — was skeptical about the fast process, but she hoped Matt would ask for her father’s blessing. She admitted she was in love with him and noted she would accept a proposal. Ultimately, she was let down when Matt opted not to ask for permission to pop the question. He didn’t want to do it with all four families, but he promised to call Rachael’s dad closer to time if the opportunity arose.

Bri and Matt went off-roading in a Jeep during their date. He wanted to move past their level of comfort with each other, but she was scared to tell him she was falling in love with him. Matt believed he and Bri had a special connection, and although she wanted to put up a wall, she told him about her feelings.

Serena P., meanwhile, introduced Matt to her Canadian culture. He then met her family, who expressed their doubts that she was ready to get engaged. Serena’s anxieties deepened about making a mistake with Matt since she had hoped her hometown date would help her become more confident about taking the next step.

Matt felt something was off with Serena, so he confronted her before the rose ceremony. He told her he intentionally spent more time with her than the other women to build their connection. She thought she was afraid of her feelings for him, but she realized he was not her person. Matt was shocked and disappointed, but he wanted Serena to be happy. She chose to leave, which made Matt worry that the remaining women might do the same.

At the rose ceremony, Matt encouraged Bri, Rachael and Michelle to be sure they were ready for an engagement before accepting a rose. They all decided to stay and received roses.

The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.

Alexis Ohanian’s Thirst Tweet About Serena Williams

It’s the Georgia peach for me.

These gorgeous humans are Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian Sr. They are married and are very much in love.

While Alexis Ohanian Sr. is successful in his own right — he’s the founder of Reddit — he is often referred to as Serena’s husband / Olympia’s dad*.

Now, this week we’ve been anxiously watching the votes get tallied in several key states to determine who the next president is going to be. One of those key states is Georgia.

So, Alexis probably didn’t think twice when he tweeted this as the nation watched Georgia’s ballots get counted:

In case you need an emoji refresher, the peach emoji is code for a butt — a bootylicious butt, to be more specific.

So, when people saw Alexis Sr. tweet this, they IMMEDIATELY thought he was talking about Serena:

He soon realized his error, and corrected it in the best way:

“…but y’all ain’t wrong.”

After this week, I really needed this laugh.

Serena Williams And Her Daughter Wear Matching Outfits

“Not all Superhero women wear capes…. but we do.”

Serena Williams and her daughter, Olympia, don’t miss any opportunity to play dress-up in matching outfits — and it’s always adorable.

Their latest coordinated moment was on a trip to the beach. For the occasion, the mother-daughter duo wore white capes behind their swimsuits, and the moment was so cute that Serena shared a photo of it on Instagram.

“Not all Superhero women wear capes…. but we do,” she captioned the pic while also tagging her daughter.

Even though Olympia is only 3-years-old, she already has 606,000 followers on Instagram.

Serena shares her kid with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, who is also the co-founder of Reddit.

When the trio have some down-time, they love to post family pictures on Instagram, and fans especially love it when Serena and Olympia put on their matching outfits at home.

Back in August, Serena raved about her daughter having her back when Olympia helped her zip up her costume.

“She’s got my back already. And I’ll always have hers,” the athlete wrote in caption.

But that’s not all. During quarantine, Serena and Olympia dressed up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast to keep themselves occupied.

Serena and Olympia continue to be mother-daughter goals.

Serena Williams Had A Mom Moment During A Tennis Match

Updated 4 minutes ago. Posted 1 hour ago

“I’m thinking OK Serena stop looking over there.”

Serena Williams played her first tennis match in the wake of the pandemic today, going up against Bernarda Pera. But, even though she won, her mind was focused off the court — at least for a moment.

In the middle of her match at the Top Seed Open in Kentucky, Serena had a relatable mom moment when her ears picked up the sound of her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

After her win, Serena talked about how she parented from the court mid-match, without anyone noticing, saying of her daughter, in a press conference per Baseline, “I think I heard her cough. I know my baby’s cough. She was drinking, and she was eating grapes. And I’m then like, oh my gosh is she chewing? Make sure you chew.”

“I’m thinking, ‘OK Serena stop looking over there’,” Serena said of her stream-of-consciousness, as her daughter was sitting with her husband Alexis Ohanian.

She managed to communicate to her husband with just a glance from the court: “So I didn’t look over there but I kind of flashed my husband a look like make sure she’s chewing her grapes because she shouldn’t be coughing while she’s eating grapes. That’s the new mom in me and it’s good.”

While this whole situation would be stressful to any mom — let alone a mom during the middle of her work day, or, say, in the middle of a high-profile tennis match — Serena called the “atmosphere” of the game “really chill.”

“I kind of didn’t mind it, it was different,” she said of playing in the middle of a pandemic. “I’ve been through so many things in my career and this was totally different. I think I won today because I was calm for once in my career.”

Hopefully the next press conference she will share with all of us how she manages to maintain that level of zen.

Serena Williams Returns to the Court With Support From Alexis Ohanian and Daughter Olympia

Game, set, perfect match!

Serena Williams was certainly feeling the love on Tuesday, Aug. 11 as she returned to the court for her first competitive match since the COVID-19 outbreak postponed numerous tennis tournaments. The world-famous athlete was victorious against Bernarda Pera at the Top Seed Open in Kentucky, and we’d like to think she has her two good luck charms to thank in part.

Both Serena’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their 2-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., were cheering her on from the stands. Aside from tournament officials and a very small number of individuals connected to the players, spectators were not permitted inside the tournament. During a post-game press conference, Serena admitted that despite the W, her toddler’s snacking may have kept her from remaining in the zone.

“I didn’t even look over there,” she told reporters. “I think I heard her cough though. I know my baby’s cough. She was drinking and she was eating grapes. And I’m then like, ‘Oh my gosh. Is she chewing? Make sure you chew.'”

She continued, “So I didn’t look over there but I kind of flashed my husband a look like make sure she’s chewing her grapes because she shouldn’t be coughing while she’s eating grapes. That’s the new mom in me and it’s good.”

Gossip Girl’s Best Insults About Serena

Let’s face it: Serena was one of the worst characters on Gossip Girl.

The CW

She seemed to have everything handed to her, she rarely took responsibility for her actions, she pretended to be the “nice” one despite scheming almost as much as Blair, and she acted like she owned everyone she’d ever dated.

I have to admit I took a certain pleasure in seeing her put in her place. (Don’t pretend you didn’t.) Allow me to present to you the best times the other characters showed Serena no mercy.

When Blair reminded Serena of the state of her life:

The CW

“Life is kind of like summer for you” — if that isn’t the most accurate statement about Serena’s life…

…And then didn’t even let her recover before burning her again:

The CW

Blair told it like it was.

When Georgina made her feelings clear:

The CW

As it turned out, Georgina was NOT lying. Take that, Serena!

When Dan made fun of Serena’s pampered upbringing:

The CW

Although, let’s not forget Dan also had a super privileged life and lived in a nice loft in Brooklyn. But that’s a post for another time.

When Blair was not afraid to tell Serena the truth:

…More than once:

The CW

She also managed to roast every teen drama character ever.

When she again called Serena out for being the same person she was in high school:

The CW

Season 5 Blair pulled no punches.

When Nate didn’t let Serena get off so easily when she broke up with him:

The CW

I almost cheered when he said this.

When Serena’s high school headmistress came up to roast her choice in college:

The CW

Then she just walked away!!! Mic dropped.

When Blair roasted Serena’s taste in men:

The CW

Yes, I know Blair later dated Dan, but we’re going to pretend that didn’t happen.

And again, when she found out Dan and Serena were back together:

The CW

We love a supportive friend who still keeps it real!!

When Serena filmed Dan while they were having sex without his consent so she could send it to Gossip Girl and get revenge on Blair, and then had the audacity to use it to say she and Dan were meant to be:

The CW

This is one of the few times I was in 100% agreement with Dan.

When the gang found out Serena was faking her identity, so they played along while also hinting the truth to her new beau:

The CW

I wish we had more examples of Georgina insulting Serena. Her insults were the best.

When Serena wasn’t even within earshot and Chuck felt the need to roast her for tricking him into meeting up with his mother:

The CW

Serena needed to stop meddling!!

And then Serena tried to intervene and force Chuck to speak to her, and Blair put her in her place:

The CW

An iconic line that should’ve been uttered more than once.

When Serena (rightfully) claimed she hadn’t kissed both Nate and Dan, and they (rightfully) called her out for all her past wishy-washy behavior:

The CW

Juliet may have made her look guilty that night, but Serena was totally responsible for everything she did before.

And then Blair dragged her to hell for always putting the blame on others:

The CW

Once again, Juliet was partially responsible, but there was a reason all Serena’s friends thought she was capable of being such a jerk! Because it was totally in character!

When once again, Serena wasn’t even there and Eric literally read her life:

The CW

Juliet’s scheme only worked because she made Serena look like she was doing exactly what she always did.

When Blair called Serena OUT for showing up everywhere randomly:

The CW

You can’t just show up to someone’s house, Serena!

And so did Dan, albeit a little more playfully:

The CW

She never called ahead!!!

When Serena got eviscerated by her own mother:

The CW

It was true!!! Serena could’ve stood to be alone for a while.

When Blair made her feelings clear about Serena’s new profession:

The CW

Side note: I’m obsessed with Blair’s dress here.

And then gave her a backhanded compliment a breath later:

When Dan straight up destroyed Serena’s entire life in a single sentence:

When Blair was straight up with her:

The CW

I still don’t know how Serena got into Brown.

And also basically summed up Serena’s personality in a few words:

When Serena gave Gossip Girl pages of Blair’s diary and Blair succinctly summed up her feelings about it:

And finally, when Dan simultaneously complimented Serena and brought up her issues:

The CW

Not really a roast, but still…he didn’t really need to bring up Serena’s still-fresh daddy issues in playful conversation.
