Netflix drops ‘The Witcher’ trailer with blond badass Henry Cavill

Superman has gone super-blond.

Netflix dropped a full-length trailer Thursday for the upcoming series “The Witcher,” starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, a mutant monster-fighter often accused of being a monster himself.

“I am who they say I am,” says the stringy-haired “witcher” Geralt, who battles demons in the fictional land called The Continent — which, frankly, could stand in for any locale in HBO’s “Games of Thrones” universe — alongside Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). The sword-wielding Geralt stakes claim to his antihero status by declaring that there is no gradation when determining good people from bad.

“Evil is evil,” spits out the hoarse-voiced Cavill. “Lesser. Greater. Meddling. It’s all the same.”

Fans couldn’t help but point out that Cavill with bleached-blond hair resembles a Targaryen, the fair-haired family from HBO’s hit show.

“All I can say is Henry Cavill would be a perfect Targaryen,” one fan writes.

“I know Henry Cavill will be too focused on The Witcher and (please god) Man of Steel 2, but no one would be more fit for Aegon Targaryen,” another suggests.

Lauren Schmidt (“Daredevil”) is executive producer of the fantasy series, which will premiere Dec. 20. It is based on a series of books by Polish novelist Andrzej Sapkowski.
