Mike Shinoda just wrapped up his Post Traumatic tour in support of his debut solo EP, but the music’s still coming. The singer-songwriter dropped the eerie “fine” on Friday (Nov. 1), and the tune is featured in the Russian sci-fi film, The Blackout.
“I feel a chill building up inside/Seeing the sweat filling up my eyes/Tell every friend, enemy, flesh and blood/To send out the battle cry,” he belts in the verse.
“When the director Egor Baranov sent me a clip of the film, I instantly had an idea for what kind of song I wanted to make,” said Shinoda in a press statement. “The tense and unsettling nature of the film instantly resonated with me.”
The Blackout will premiere in the U.S. at The American Film Market in Santa Monica, CA on Nov. 9. Listen to “fine” below.
