At the 2019 EMAs, former Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher did something outrageous — he got reflective for a rare, fleeting moment. While the Gallagher Bros. are typically not the most misty-eyed bunch, Liam performed his backward-gazing meditation “Once” from his solo album Why Me? Why Not. album.
Segueing from his new music into an Oasis classic, the Seville, Spain, crowd went wild when he busted out “Wonderwall,” even tweaking the lyrics for his audience, changing “there are many things I’d like to say to you but I don’t know how” to “there are many things I’d like to say to you but I don’t speak Spanish.” The crowd, naturally, helped him out on the chorus, as anyone who has heard the song “Wonderwall” even once is wont to do.
