Katy Perry surprised an unsuspecting biker during a dramatic reading of her latest single “Harleys in Hawaii,” in a video posted on Thursday (Nov. 21).
Wearing a motorcycle helmet to hide her face, the superstar stops by the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, posing as a stand-in for herself at the budding actor’s audition for her Hawaii-set music video. After introducing herself as “Heather,” Perry playfully calls out the biker (whose name is Ken) for saying he’s “not embarrassed to” admit he’s familiar with the pop star’s music.
“Why would you be embarrassed? I think she’s cool!” the pop star says incredulously, leading Ken to joke, “I’m totally in control of my manhood,” before launching into the song’s sensual lyrics.
After a dozen amusing takes of lines like “when I hula-hula/ So good, you take me to the jeweler-jeweler,” Perry removes the helmet to reveal her identity to a pleasantly surprised Ken. “Oh, no way!” he exclaims with a laugh. “I saw the blonde hair…I just thought, you know, it’s a double or somethin.'”
