Japan’s Suchmos Appears as Special Guest at Taiwan’s Golden Indie Music Awards

J-pop band Suchmos performed at the 10th Golden Indie Music Awards in Taiwan on Saturday (Nov. 16) as a special overseas guest.

One of the two major music awards in Taiwan, the Golden Indie Music Awards by the Ministry of Culture’s Department of Audiovisual and Music Industry honors breakout acts and helps “to identify new local music talents through categories different from the Golden Melody Awards,” according to the Ministry’s website.

Suchmos was invited to represent next-gen Japanese culture trends. The six-member group wowed the local audience with their smooth yet intense live performance of “MINT” and “808” in their first show in about two months following their Yokohama Arena headlining concert in September. The “Stay Tune” band is set to tour Asia in early 2020.

Suchmos Asia Tour 2020 Dates
