Highly Suspect Tops Mainstream Rock Songs Chart With ’16’

The song is the band’s second leader, after “My Name Is Human” in 2016.

Highly Suspect scores its second No. 1 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, as “16” crowns the Oct. 26-dated ranking.

The song follows the eight-week reign of the group’s “My Name Is Human” beginning in December 2016.

The coronation of “16” continues the sizzling start at radio for the band from Cape Cod, Mass., as each of its first five Mainstream Rock Songs entries has reached the top five, starting with “Lydia,” a No. 4 hit in 2015.

“16” is somewhat of a rarity on Mainstream Rock Songs as a whole, let alone at No. 1, as a track that includes no electric guitar.

Concurrently, “16” returns to its No. 24 high on the Alternative Songs airplay chart and breaks into the top 10 of the all-rock-format Rock Airplay list, rising 12-9 with 5.1 million audience impressions, up 12%, according to Nielsen Music.

The track also becomes the band’s first top 10 on the streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot Rock Songs chart (11-9), as it drew 905,000 U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in addition to its radio reach. The group had previously peaked at a No. 12 best on the chart with “My Name Is Human.”

“16” is the lead single from MCID, Highly Suspect’s third studio album, due Nov. 1 on 300 Entertainment.
